What is a good welding helmet?
Im wondering where i can find a cheap welding helmet. No more than $100. Im just taking a class in school and i cant stand the ones he has where you cant see sh*t. Where can i buy a cheap helmet online? Does lincoln sell any that cheap if so where?
Just buy a new lens that's one shade lighter, and/or a new clean cover plate. This will probably cost you $20.
A "good" auto-darkening helmet will cost from $250-$350.
$100 will not get you "good'; helmet, at least not an auto-darkening one.
If a normal helmet bothers you it means you don't have good welding skills, pure and simple. Get more practice and improve your skills and reflexes......... then worry about a nice helmet.
The ONLY difference with an auto-dark is you can weld slightly faster because you don't have to flip your hood up and down as often. That's about it. An auto-dark will not compensate for a low skill level, and un-practiced reflexes.
