What do you think of these two girls name combinations: Nora Magdalene and Nora Laverne?
I'm considering both Magdalene (pronounced MAG-dah-len) and Laverne (pronounced luh-VERN) as middle names for Nora for my favorites list. I'd love if you could give your thoughts on BOTH options and then choose your favorite.
*Note: Please no nasty comments on Laverne; it's a family name. It's perfectly fine if you don't like it, I'd just prefer if you don't completely bash the name.

Nora Magdalene -- I love Magdalene! Nora is simple and sweet, and Magdalene is elaborate and striking. I like the way it starts and ends with the same sound too, it kind of brings the name together.
Nora Laverne -- I think family names make great middle names. I probably wouldn't use Laverne myself, but a name which has a special, personal meaning to you is always a good choice. Nora Laverne does have a nice, vintage feel. Eleanor/Eleanora Laverne would be pretty too, and I think Laverne would combine especially well with a very feminine, flowy first name.
My pick would be Nora Magdalene, because I prefer the sound and flow of the name, and Magdalene is one of my all time faves.
But, if Laverne has more meaning to you than Magdalene, then that might be the best option for your list!
