i want to buy my own welder instead of using my friends all the time. ive used the chicago electric 90a flux core (horrible) and a craftsman mig with gas, and that one lays down a nice bead and has always worked well for my projects, although i know nothing else about it other than that. ill be using mainly to fab parts for my jeep- suspension, bumpers and the sort.

i will definitely get a mig with shielding gas, but i dont know what the volts and amp rating mean. do i need anything special to run a 220v in my garage?

there is a guy locally selling a snap on 75a mig with gas hookup for $100, is that any good?
the one for sale does not come with a bottle, but he says has the hookup for it, so i assume hes using a flux core wire. i will def get a bottle for it though
