how many watts to run my air compressor?
i have a dewalt air compressor. here's the description:
"The DEWALT D55140 - 1 Gallon, 135 PSI Max, Trim Compressor provides .75 SCFM delivered @ 90 PSI pump. 2.6 amp draw motor"
i'd like to run it from my truck with a power inverter but i don't know how many watts i'll need to do that. can anyone make a reccomendation on an inverter with enough wattage to run it?

Watts = Amps x voltage
But keep in mind the surge wattage. Like already mentioned it will take less than 300 watts to run it, but every time the pump kicks on it will draw over 800 watts
With that little 1 gallon tank, your compressor will be kicking on alot too.
I would look for an inverter that has atlest a 1,000 watt surge and atleast 400 watt norm output.
