how can guys who weigh 190-195 cut weight to make it to the ww division in mma?
i can understand cutting 5 or at most 10lbs but cutting 15lbs+ seems crazy and dangerous
It actually gets worse as the fighter gets bigger. Tim Silvia walks around at 310 pounds and cuts to 265. Brock Lesnar walks at 295-300 pounds and cuts to 265. The bigger you are the more water you hold and you can cut more weight. It is dangerous but most top level fighters work directly with doctors and nutritionist when preparing for a fight.
